How does Rashtriya Swayam Sevak ( RSS) Works ?

The First way to provide character training is through Hindu discipline & Hindutva ideology and to unite the Hindu people community to form a Hindu Rashtra (Hindu nation). The organization has the ideals of holding the Indian culture of the people and the values of civil society and spreads the ideology of Hindutva, to “strengthen” the Hindu community. They have several affialated Rss team who work for people welfare, schools, charities and spreading ideology.

RSS has many sevaks in different states of India. Each of these seeks functions independently and brings news of the state and the country to the subscribers. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor of BJP, has grown significantly with the expansion of its ‘shakhas’ (units) across the country within the last nine years.

“There has been an unprecedented growth of RSS within the country since 2010. As of date, 57,411 ‘shakhas’ are functional across the country and Sangh members are holding weekly meetings at 18,923 locations. This goes to prove the increasing acceptance of Sangh and its ideology among the people,” said RSS joint general secretary Manmohan Vaidya.

The RSS in Karnataka has separate cells from the other cells of the RSS in India. The function of each such cell is to get new volunteers who can go to other states of India to join the RSS in Karnataka. RSS cells in other states are also formed on the basis of affinity and religious affinity.

A person can join RSS in Bengal in the form of a Director or a Member. The functionaries of a Director are the ones who organize the recruitment drives for joining the RSS in Bengal. Every six months, a new Director needs to be elected. The procedure of conducting an election is the same as that of the election of a regular member. The requirements of the eligibility are almost the same for both the procedures.
